Horse anti-lymphocyte immunoglobulin is used for the prevention and treatment of acute rejection in organ transplantation. It works by suppressing the body's immune response, reducing T-lymphocyte activity.
The medication is administered intravenously, as directed by a doctor. It is important to monitor the patient for adverse reactions during the infusion.
Side effects may include fever, chills, skin rashes, or injection site reactions. In rare cases, severe allergic reactions or opportunistic infections may occur.
Horse anti-lymphocyte immunoglobulin is not recommended for patients with hypersensitivity to animal-derived proteins or active severe infections.
