Nifedipine is a medication from the calcium channel blocker class, primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina pectoris (chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart). It works by relaxing blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and reducing the workload on the heart.
