Anti-lymphocyte immunoglobulin is an immunological preparation used for the prevention and treatment of acute rejection in organ transplantation, as well as for the treatment of severe autoimmune conditions. It works by binding to T-lymphocytes, suppressing the body's immune response.
The medication is administered intravenously, as directed by a doctor, and requires careful monitoring for adverse effects.
Side effects may include fever, chills, skin rash, leukopenia, or thrombocytopenia. In rare cases, anaphylactic reactions or severe infections may occur.
Anti-lymphocyte immunoglobulin is not recommended for patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or active severe infections.
