Naphazoline + neomycin + dexamethasone is a local combination, usually in eye drops, used when eye inflammation is associated with risk or signs of susceptible bacterial infection. Naphazoline reduces redness by narrowing blood vessels, neomycin is an antibiotic, and dexamethasone is an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid.
It should be used only according to the doctor’s instructions and the leaflet. Do not use it for sudden red eye without medical assessment, for viral or fungal infections, or after eye injury without examination. Wash hands before use, do not touch the bottle tip, and avoid contact lenses unless the doctor specifically allows them.
Side effects may include stinging, burning, temporary blurred vision, pupil dilation, dryness, irritation, allergy to neomycin or increased eye pressure. Prolonged corticosteroid use can promote glaucoma, cataract, delayed corneal healing or worsening of a hidden infection. Treatment should be short and monitored.
Contact a doctor urgently if severe eye pain, reduced vision, marked light sensitivity, purulent discharge, eyelid swelling, rash, severe dizziness or lack of improvement occurs. Tell the doctor if you have glaucoma, ocular herpes, antibiotic allergies or recent eye surgery. This product is not suitable for self-medication.
