Indicated for: pain and inflammation
Substance: ketorolac trometamin (analgesic and antipyretic)
ATC: M01AB15 (Musculo-skeletal system | Antiinflammatory and antirheumatic products, non-steroids | Acetic acid derivatives and related substances)
Ketorolac tromethamine is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat moderate to severe acute pain, usually after surgery. It works by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, thereby reducing pain and inflammation.
The medication is administered orally, intramuscularly, or intravenously, as directed by a doctor, and is intended for short-term use (usually no more than 5 days).
Side effects may include nausea, headaches, dizziness, or gastrointestinal irritation. In rare cases, severe adverse effects such as gastrointestinal bleeding or kidney failure may occur.
Patients should inform their doctor about any other medications they are taking and avoid concurrent use with other NSAIDs. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a specialist before use.
