Candesartan cilexetil is an antihypertensive medication that belongs to the class of angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs). It is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and chronic heart failure, particularly in patients who cannot tolerate angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. Candesartan works by blocking angiotensin II receptors, thereby preventing vasoconstriction and lowering blood pressure.
