Ampicillin is an antibiotic from the penicillin class used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. Ampicillin works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial destruction. It is available in the form of capsules, oral suspension, or injectable solution, with administration depending on the severity of the infection.
