Ramipril is a medication used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack or stroke. It belongs to the class of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and works by relaxing blood vessels, which lowers blood pressure and reduces the workload on the heart.

Ramipril is also indicated for kidney protection in patients with diabetes or other conditions that may impair kidney function. It is taken orally, usually once daily, and the dosage is adjusted based on the patient's response and the condition being treated.
