Lactobacillus acidophilus helps restore normal vaginal flora, while estriol, an estrogen hormone, aids in the regeneration of vaginal mucosa.
The medication is administered as vaginal suppositories, usually once daily, as directed by a doctor. The duration of treatment varies depending on the severity of symptoms.
Common side effects include local irritation, itching, or a burning sensation. In rare cases, allergic reactions or increased sensitivity to estriol may occur.
This combination is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Patients should inform their doctor about any other medications being used to avoid drug interactions.
