Hydrotalcite is an antacid used for the treatment of heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux, and other conditions associated with gastric hyperacidity. It works by neutralizing stomach acid and protecting the stomach lining.
The medication is taken orally, usually after meals or as needed, as directed by a doctor. It is important not to exceed the recommended dose.
Side effects may include constipation, diarrhea, or abdominal discomfort. In rare cases, allergic reactions may occur.
Hydrotalcite is not recommended for patients with severe renal impairment or hypersensitivity to this medication.
