The combination of hydrocortisone, lidocaine, and zinc oxide is used to treat inflammatory skin conditions accompanied by pain or itching, such as hemorrhoids or irritant dermatitis. Hydrocortisone reduces inflammation, lidocaine provides a local anesthetic effect, and zinc oxide protects the skin and promotes healing.
The medication is applied topically, as directed by a doctor, usually 1-2 times daily.
Side effects may include local irritation, burning sensation, or, in rare cases, allergic reactions.
