The combination of calcii acetas and magnesii subcarbonas is used for the treatment of hyperphosphatemia in patients with chronic kidney disease, particularly those on dialysis. These phosphate binders reduce the absorption of phosphate from food, helping to maintain an appropriate phosphorus balance in the body and preventing complications associated with high phosphate levels, such as vascular calcifications.

The medication is taken orally, usually during meals, as directed by a doctor. The dosage is adjusted based on serum phosphate levels and the patient's response to treatment.

Common side effects include nausea, constipation, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort. In rare cases, more severe adverse effects such as hypercalcemia or hypermagnesemia may occur, requiring dose adjustment or discontinuation of treatment.
