The combination of dexpanthenol and xylometazoline is used to relieve nasal congestion and protect irritated nasal mucosa. Xylometazoline is a decongestant that reduces swelling of blood vessels in the nose, while dexpanthenol helps regenerate and hydrate the nasal mucosa.
The medication is available as a nasal spray and is usually used 2-3 times a day for a limited period (maximum 7 days), as directed by a doctor.
Side effects may include nasal dryness, a burning sensation, or local irritation. Prolonged use may lead to rebound congestion (worsened nasal congestion).
Patients should follow the recommended dosage and avoid long-term use. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a specialist before use.
