Leaflet FLUOR-VIGANTOLETTEN 1000UI / 0.55mg tablets

Indicated for: calcium deficiency; osteoporosis

Route of administration: oral

Substance: cholecalciferol + sodium fluoride (vitamin + mineral)

ATC: A11CC20 (Alimentary tract and metabolism | Vitamin A and D, including combinations of the two | Vitamin D and analogues)

Cholecalciferol (vitamin D3) and sodium fluoride are active ingredients used in combination to support bone and dental health. This combination is particularly indicated for the prevention and treatment of conditions associated with vitamin D and fluoride deficiency, such as osteoporosis, rickets, or dental caries.

Cholecalciferol is a form of vitamin D that helps the body absorb calcium and phosphorus from food, which is essential for maintaining healthy bones and teeth. Sodium fluoride strengthens tooth enamel, thereby preventing cavities, and may also have a beneficial effect on bone mineralization.

While this combination is effective, its use should be approached with caution. Excessive intake of vitamin D can lead to hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in the blood), which may cause nausea, vomiting, weakness, or kidney problems. Sodium fluoride, if taken in large amounts, can cause fluorosis, a condition characterized by white or brown spots on the teeth and, in severe cases, bone damage.

This combination should be used as directed by a doctor, and patients should adhere to the recommended dosage. It is important to avoid concurrent use with other supplements containing vitamin D or fluoride to prevent overdosing. If adverse effects or unusual symptoms occur, medical advice should be sought.
