Nonivamide and nicoboxil are used together in topical medications to relieve muscle pain, joint pain, and muscle tension. This combination has a rubefacient effect (local warming), which helps relax muscles, improve local blood circulation, and reduce discomfort associated with muscular or joint conditions.

- Nonivamide is a synthetic analog of capsaicin, the active substance in chili peppers, which stimulates pain receptors in the skin, causing an intense warming sensation. It helps reduce pain by desensitizing nerve receptors.
- Nicoboxil is a derivative of nicotinic acid (vitamin B3) that dilates blood vessels locally, improving blood flow and contributing to the warming effect. This vasodilation helps relax muscles and reduce tension.

This combination is indicated for the treatment of muscle pain, joint stiffness, muscle strains, lumbago, or other rheumatic conditions. The warming effect occurs quickly after application and can last for several hours, providing significant relief from discomfort.

While effective, this combination may cause side effects such as local irritation, intense redness, or a burning sensation on the skin.
