Naftifine is a topical antifungal medication used to treat fungal skin infections such as tinea pedis (athlete's foot), tinea corporis (ringworm), tinea cruris (jock itch), and cutaneous candidiasis. It belongs to the class of drugs known as allylamines and works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, leading to the destruction of fungi.

Naftifine is available as a cream or gel and is applied topically to the affected area, usually once daily, as directed by a doctor or the product leaflet. Treatment should be continued for the recommended duration, even if symptoms disappear, to prevent recurrence of the infection.

Side effects are rare but may include local irritation, redness, burning sensation, or dryness of the skin. These reactions are usually mild and temporary.

Naftifine is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients. Its use during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be done with caution and only under medical advice. It is important to avoid contact with the eyes, mucous membranes, or broken skin.
