The combination of magnesium hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide, and benzocaine is used for the symptomatic treatment of heartburn and gastric discomfort. Magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide neutralize stomach acid, while benzocaine provides local anesthetic effects, reducing pain.
The medication is taken orally, as directed by a doctor or the product leaflet, usually after meals or as needed.
Side effects may include constipation, diarrhea, nausea, or allergic reactions. In rare cases, prolonged use may lead to electrolyte imbalances.
This combination is not recommended for patients with severe renal impairment or hypersensitivity to any of the components.
