About this active substance

The combination of levothyroxine and liothyronine is used for the treatment of hypothyroidism, particularly in cases where levothyroxine monotherapy is insufficient. Levothyroxine and liothyronine are synthetic thyroid hormones that replace natural hormones.

The medication is taken orally, usually once daily in the morning on an empty stomach. The dose is adjusted based on blood thyroid hormone levels and the patient's clinical response.

Side effects may include palpitations, anxiety, insomnia, or diarrhea. In rare cases, treatment-induced hyperthyroidism or allergic reactions may occur.

This combination is not recommended for patients with hyperthyroidism, untreated adrenal insufficiency, or hypersensitivity to any of the components.
