Lansoprazole is a medication used to treat gastrointestinal conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastric ulcers, and duodenal ulcers. It belongs to the class of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and works by reducing the production of stomach acid.

The medication is taken orally, usually once daily before meals. Lansoprazole is effective in relieving heartburn symptoms and promoting the healing of the gastric lining.
