About this active substance

Cenobamate is an antiepileptic medication used for the treatment of focal seizures in adult patients with epilepsy. It is indicated in cases where other treatments have not provided adequate seizure control.

Cenobamate works by regulating neuronal activity, reducing excessive brain excitability that leads to seizures. It is administered orally, and the dose is gradually adjusted to minimize the risk of side effects.

Side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, headache, or gastrointestinal disturbances. In rare cases, it can cause severe reactions such as DRESS syndrome (Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms). It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the substance.
