Brexpiprazole is an antipsychotic medication used for the treatment of schizophrenia and major depressive disorder in adults, in combination with other antidepressant medications. It is a partial agonist of dopamine and serotonin receptors, helping to balance brain chemicals.

The medication is taken orally, usually once daily, as directed by a doctor. The dosage is adjusted based on the patient's response and tolerance to treatment.

Common side effects include weight gain, drowsiness, dizziness, and agitation. In rare cases, more severe adverse effects such as neuroleptic malignant syndrome or tardive dyskinesia may occur.

Brexpiprazole is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women unless the benefits outweigh the risks. Patients should inform their doctor about all medications they are taking to avoid drug interactions.
