Substance: hydroxyethyl starch + sodium acetate trihydrate + sodium chloride + potassium chloride + magnesium chloride hexahydrate (mineral + electrolyte)
ATC: B05AA07 (Blood and blood forming organs | Blood and related products | Blood substitutes and plasma protein fractions)
This combination of hydroxyethyl starch, sodium acetate trihydrate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and magnesium chloride hexahydrate is used as an infusion solution for plasma volume expansion and correction of electrolyte imbalances. Hydroxyethyl starch acts as a plasma expander, while the electrolytes help maintain electrolyte balance.
The medication is administered intravenously, as directed by a doctor. It is important to monitor the patient for signs of overdose or electrolyte imbalances.
Side effects may include injection site reactions, electrolyte imbalances, or allergic reactions. In rare cases, renal failure or anaphylactic reactions may occur.
This combination is not recommended for patients with severe renal impairment, hypervolemia, or hypersensitivity to any of the components.
