Solifenacin succinate is a medication used to treat overactive bladder, a condition characterized by frequent and urgent urination, as well as urinary incontinence. It helps relax the bladder muscles, thereby reducing these bothersome symptoms.
Acting as a muscarinic receptor antagonist, solifenacin blocks the effects of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that stimulates bladder contractions. Through this mechanism, the medication decreases urinary frequency and urgency.
