The combination of amlodipine, valsartan, and hydrochlorothiazide is used to treat essential hypertension (high blood pressure) in patients who cannot control their blood pressure with a combination of two medications. This triple therapy helps lower blood pressure and prevent cardiovascular complications, such as heart attack or stroke.

- Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure.
- Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that blocks the effects of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessel constriction, thereby helping to lower blood pressure.
- Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that helps eliminate excess salt and water from the body, reducing blood volume and, consequently, blood pressure.
