Leaflet TRIPACEL injection suspension

Indicated for: prevention of diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis

Route of administration: injectable

Substance: diphtheria + tetanus vaccine + cellular pertussis (vaccine)

ATC: J07AJ51 (Antiinfectives for systemic use | Bacterial vaccines | Pertussis vaccines)

The diphtheria, tetanus, whole-cell pertussis (DTPc) vaccine is used to prevent diphtheria, tetanus, and whooping cough (pertussis), three serious infectious diseases caused by bacteria. The vaccine contains diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, as well as inactivated whole cells of Bordetella pertussis, which stimulate the immune system to produce specific antibodies against these pathogens.

The vaccine is administered intramuscularly, usually in multiple doses, according to recommended vaccination schedules for infants and young children. Booster doses are required at regular intervals to maintain immunity.

Common side effects include pain at the injection site, mild fever, fatigue, and irritability. In rare cases, severe allergic reactions may occur.

The DTPc vaccine is an essential measure for protecting public health, helping to reduce the incidence and severity of these infectious diseases and prevent the severe complications associated with them.
