Indicated for: asthma; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Substance: tiotropium + olodaterol (antimuscarinic bronchodilator + beta-2 adrenergic agonist)
ATC: R03AL06 (Respiratory system | Adrenergics, inhalants | Adrenergics in combination with anticholinergics incl. triple combinations with corticosteroids)
The combination of tiotropium and olodaterol is used for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Tiotropium is an anticholinergic bronchodilator, and olodaterol is a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist. Together, they relax the airway muscles and improve lung function.
The medication is administered via inhaler, usually once daily, as directed by a doctor. It is used for long-term control of symptoms and not for quick relief of breathing crises.
Patients should strictly follow the instructions for using the inhaler and inform their doctor of any unusual symptoms. It is important not to exceed the recommended dose.
Side effects may include dry mouth, cough, dizziness, and, in rare cases, severe allergic reactions or breathing difficulties. Patients should be informed of these risks before starting treatment.
