Amino acids are included for protein synthesis and muscle mass maintenance. Lipids provide energy and essential fatty acids, while electrolytes help maintain fluid and electrolyte balance and normal cellular functions.
This combination is indicated in cases of severe malnutrition, multiple organ failure, extensive burns, or other critical conditions. It is administered intravenously under strict medical supervision.
Side effects may include electrolyte imbalances, allergic reactions, or metabolic overload, especially in patients with liver or kidney impairment. Close monitoring of liver and kidney function and electrolyte balance is essential.
