The combination of acetylcysteine and tuaminoheptane sulfate is used for the symptomatic treatment of respiratory conditions involving nasal congestion and excessive mucus production. This combination is commonly found in medications for colds, flu, or other acute respiratory conditions, providing mucolytic and decongestant effects.

- Acetylcysteine is a mucolytic agent that helps to thin thick and viscous mucus in the airways. This facilitates the removal of mucus through coughing or other natural mechanisms, improving breathing and reducing discomfort associated with mucus buildup.
- Tuaminoheptane sulfate is a fast-acting nasal decongestant that reduces inflammation and nasal congestion by constricting blood vessels in the nasal mucosa. This effect helps relieve the sensation of a blocked nose and improves airflow through the nasal passages.

This combination is typically administered as a nasal spray or inhalation solution, depending on the doctor’s recommendations. Its use is generally limited to a short period (usually a few days) to avoid side effects or the development of dependency on decongestants.
