Paroxetine is an antidepressant medication used for the treatment of major depression, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and other similar conditions. It belongs to the class of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and works by increasing serotonin levels in the brain.
The medication is taken orally, usually once daily, and should be used as directed by your doctor. It is important not to abruptly discontinue treatment to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
