The combination of phenazone and chlorobutanol hemihydrate is used for the relief of pain and inflammation associated with otitis media. Phenazone has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, while chlorobutanol provides antiseptic and local anesthetic effects.
The medication is administered as ear drops, usually two to three times daily, as directed by a doctor. It is important to avoid prolonged use without medical supervision.
Side effects may include local irritation, burning sensation, or allergic reactions. In rare cases, severe reactions such as hypersensitivity may occur.
This combination is not recommended for patients with a perforated eardrum or hypersensitivity to any of the components.
