Leaflet NAFAZIN 0.05% nasal drops, solution

Indicated for: nasal congestion; rhinitis

Substance: oxymetazoline (adrenergic decongestant)

ATC: R01AA05 (Respiratory system | Decongestants and other nasal preparations for topical use | Sympathomimetics, plain)

Oxymetazoline is a medication used to relieve nasal congestion associated with colds, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, or other respiratory conditions. It belongs to the class of decongestants and works by constricting blood vessels in the nasal mucosa, reducing inflammation and swelling, which helps improve breathing.

Oxymetazoline is available as a nasal spray or nasal drops and provides rapid relief, usually within minutes, lasting up to 12 hours. It is recommended for short-term use, typically no more than 3-5 days, to avoid rebound congestion (worsened nasal congestion after stopping use).

Side effects may include dryness or irritation of the nasal mucosa, a burning sensation, sneezing, or, rarely, headaches and palpitations. It is important not to exceed the recommended dose, and patients with high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases, or other conditions should consult a healthcare provider before use.
