Domperidone is a medication used to treat nausea, vomiting, and abdominal discomfort caused by delayed stomach emptying (gastroparesis). It is also used to relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux and bloating.
Domperidone works by blocking dopamine receptors in the area of the brain responsible for nausea and vomiting. It also stimulates the motility of the upper gastrointestinal tract, helping the stomach empty more quickly and reducing the sensation of nausea.
