Meropenem is an antibiotic from the carbapenem class, used to treat severe bacterial infections. This medication is indicated for the treatment of complicated infections, such as intra-abdominal infections, complicated urinary tract infections, bacterial meningitis, and skin and soft tissue infections. It is also used in the treatment of sepsis and hospital-acquired pneumonia, including ventilator-associated pneumonia.
