Do not take with milk, calcium, iron, magnesium, or antacids if separation is recommended.
This medicine may change blood electrolyte levels.
Magnesium citrate + pyridoxine is a supplement combination providing magnesium and vitamin B6. Magnesium contributes to normal muscle, nerve and energy metabolism, while pyridoxine, vitamin B6, participates in protein metabolism and nervous system function. It is not a treatment for undiagnosed illness and should not be used to explain persistent symptoms without assessment.
It is taken by mouth according to the leaflet or medical advice. The dose should be considered together with total magnesium and vitamin B6 intake from other supplements. Magnesium citrate may have a laxative effect, especially at higher doses. If symptoms such as cramps, tiredness or tingling persist, the cause should be investigated rather than simply increasing supplements.
Side effects may include diarrhoea, abdominal cramps, nausea, bloating or unpleasant taste. High magnesium doses are risky in kidney disease because elimination is reduced. Long-term excess vitamin B6 can cause neuropathy with numbness, tingling or walking problems. Interactions may occur with some antibiotics, levothyroxine and bisphosphonates.
Ask for medical advice before use if you have kidney failure, heart rhythm disorders, chronic treatment or pregnancy. Contact a doctor if severe diarrhoea, marked weakness, sleepiness, palpitations, low blood pressure, confusion or worsening numbness occurs. The supplement is useful when there is a real need, but it does not replace tests or treatment of the cause.
