Fluvastatin is a medication used to lower blood cholesterol levels, helping to prevent cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack or stroke. It works by inhibiting an enzyme involved in cholesterol production in the liver, thus reducing total cholesterol and LDL ('bad cholesterol').
