Indicated for: local anesthesia
Route of administration: injectable
Substance: lidocaine + epinephrine (local anesthetic + vasopressor)
ATC: N01BB52 (Nervous system | Anesthetics, local | Amides)
The combination of lidocaine and epinephrine is used for local anesthesia during minor surgical or dental procedures. Lidocaine provides local anesthesia, while epinephrine reduces bleeding by constricting blood vessels.
The medication is administered via local injection, as directed by a doctor. It is important to avoid accidental intravascular injection and to adhere to the recommended dose.
Side effects may include pain at the injection site, dizziness, palpitations, or allergic reactions. In rare cases, severe reactions such as cardiac arrhythmias or seizures may occur.
This combination is not recommended for patients with hypersensitivity to lidocaine or epinephrine, as well as those with severe cardiovascular diseases.
