Latanoprost is a prostaglandin analog used for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor, thereby reducing intraocular pressure.
The medication is administered as eye drops, usually once daily in the evening. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions to achieve the best results.
Side effects may include eye irritation, redness, changes in iris color, or eyelash growth. In rare cases, allergic reactions or macular edema may occur.
Latanoprost is not recommended for patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or any of its components.
