Indicated for: pain and inflammation
Substance: ketoprofen + omeprazole (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug + proton pump inhibitor)
ATC: M01AE53 (Musculo-skeletal system | Antiinflammatory and antirheumatic products, non-steroids | Propionic acid derivatives)
Ketoprofen + omeprazole is a combination medication used to treat pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, or other inflammatory diseases, while reducing the risk of gastric irritation and ulcers caused by ketoprofen use.
Ketoprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that reduces inflammation, pain, and fever by inhibiting prostaglandin production. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that decreases stomach acid production, protecting the stomach lining from the irritating effects of ketoprofen.
This combination is particularly indicated for patients at higher risk of gastrointestinal complications, such as ulcers or gastric bleeding. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headaches, diarrhea, or constipation. It is important to take the medication as prescribed by a doctor and avoid long-term use without medical supervision.
