Asian ginseng + vitamins is a supplement combination used during periods of tiredness, mental or physical effort and insufficient dietary intake. Ginseng may traditionally support vitality, while vitamins contribute to energy metabolism, nervous system function and immunity, depending on the formula. It does not treat severe exhaustion or diseases that cause fatigue.
It is taken by mouth according to the leaflet, usually in the morning or at midday if the product feels stimulating. Do not combine it with other multivitamins without checking total doses, especially for vitamins A, D, B6 and niacin. Supplements complement, but do not replace, diet, sleep and treatment of existing illnesses.
Side effects may include insomnia, nervousness, headache, nausea, diarrhoea, palpitations, unpleasant taste or rash. Ginseng may interact with anticoagulants, diabetes medicines, stimulants and some psychiatric treatments. Excess vitamins may cause their own effects, such as neuropathy with high B6 doses or toxicity from fat-soluble vitamins.
Ask for medical advice before use if you have diabetes, hypertension, rhythm disorders, autoimmune disease, warfarin, immunosuppressive treatment, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult a doctor if palpitations, hypoglycaemia, persistent insomnia, allergic reactions or fatigue that does not improve occurs. Persistent fatigue requires exclusion of a medical cause.
