The combination of fluocinolone and neomycin is used to treat inflammatory skin infections such as infected dermatitis or superinfected eczema. Fluocinolone reduces inflammation and itching, while neomycin is an antibiotic that acts against bacteria that can cause skin infections.
The medication is applied locally as a cream or ointment to the affected area, as directed by your doctor. It is important not to exceed the recommended duration or frequency of treatment to avoid bacterial resistance or the side effects of corticosteroids.
