Fluocortolone + lidocaine is a local combination used for symptoms of haemorrhoids and anal inflammation. Fluocortolone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, swelling and itching, while lidocaine is a local anaesthetic that quickly relieves pain, stinging and burning. The treatment improves symptoms, but it does not always correct the underlying cause of haemorrhoids.

It is used as rectal cream or suppositories according to the leaflet or doctor’s advice. It is usually intended for short-term use, after gentle local hygiene and, if possible, after a bowel movement. Do not use large amounts or prolong treatment without medical advice, because corticosteroids can thin the skin and mask local infections.

Side effects may include local burning, irritation, dryness, itching, rash, allergic reactions or excessive numbness. Prolonged use may favour skin fragility, fissures, infections or systemic absorption, especially on damaged skin. Avoid applying it to infected wounds, significant bleeding or unclear lesions without medical assessment.

Contact a doctor if rectal bleeding, severe pain, fever, discharge, a painful lump, persistent symptoms or frequent recurrence occurs. During pregnancy, breastfeeding and childhood, use only with medical advice. Constipation, long sitting on the toilet and straining during bowel movements should be corrected to reduce recurrence.
