Oxaprozin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It works by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, reducing inflammation and pain.
The medication is taken orally, usually once daily, as directed by your doctor. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and avoid long-term use without medical supervision.
Side effects may include gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, dizziness, or, in rare cases, severe reactions such as gastric ulcers or kidney impairment.
Patients should inform their doctor about any other medications being used or pre-existing conditions, such as gastrointestinal or cardiovascular diseases, to ensure the safe use of oxaprozin.
