Chlorpheniramine is a first-generation antihistamine used for the symptomatic treatment of allergies, such as allergic rhinitis, urticaria, allergic conjunctivitis, and other mild to moderate allergic reactions. It is also used to relieve cold symptoms, such as sneezing and runny nose.

Chlorpheniramine works by blocking H1 histamine receptors, thereby reducing the effects of histamine, a substance released by the body during allergic reactions. This helps reduce itching, inflammation, and excessive secretions.

The medication is available in tablet, syrup, or injectable forms and is used in both adults and children, but with caution, as it may cause drowsiness.
