Do not take with milk, calcium, iron, magnesium, or antacids if separation is recommended.
Vitamins + calcium + ascorbic acid, also known as vitamin C, are combinations used to supplement micronutrient intake. Calcium is important for bones, teeth, muscles and blood clotting, while vitamin C supports collagen formation, iron absorption and immune function. Other vitamins in the product may support general metabolism.
They are taken by mouth according to the leaflet or medical advice. The total daily dose of calcium and vitamins should not be exceeded, especially if other supplements are also used. People at risk of osteoporosis, with low dietary intake, during pregnancy or recovery may need individual assessment rather than choosing a supplement at random.
Side effects may include constipation, bloating, nausea, unpleasant taste or abdominal discomfort. High calcium doses may contribute to kidney stones or high blood calcium, especially in predisposed people. Large doses of vitamin C may cause diarrhoea or heartburn and may affect some laboratory tests. Calcium can reduce absorption of certain medicines.
Ask a doctor if you have kidney disease, kidney stones, high calcium, or take digoxin, thiazide diuretics, levothyroxine or antibiotics. Seek medical advice if intense thirst, frequent urination, weakness, persistent nausea or flank pain occurs. This supplement does not replace nutrient-rich food and appropriate vitamin D assessment when bone health is a concern.
