Butylscopolamine bromide is an antispasmodic medication used to treat pain and spasms of smooth muscles in the gastrointestinal, biliary, and urinary tracts. This medication works by blocking muscarinic receptors in smooth muscles, reducing involuntary contractions and relaxing the muscles. Through this mechanism, butylscopolamine bromide helps relieve pain and discomfort caused by spasms.
