The combination of xylometazoline and dexpanthenol is used for the symptomatic treatment of nasal congestion and for protecting irritated nasal mucosa. Xylometazoline is a nasal decongestant that works by constricting blood vessels in the nasal mucosa, thereby reducing swelling and congestion. Dexpanthenol is a derivative of pantothenic acid, known for its regenerative and moisturizing properties for the nasal mucosa.

This combination is administered as a nasal spray, usually 2-3 times a day, depending on the severity of symptoms. It is intended for short-term use, typically no more than 7 days, to avoid the risk of rebound rhinitis.
