Betamethasone + Gentamicin is a combination medication used to treat inflammatory skin infections caused by susceptible bacteria. Betamethasone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness, and itching, while Gentamicin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that fights bacterial infections.

This combination is indicated for conditions such as infected dermatitis, infected eczema, psoriasis with bacterial superinfection, and other inflammatory skin conditions complicated by bacterial infections.

The medication is available as a cream or ointment and should be applied topically as directed by a doctor. Treatment is usually short-term to avoid side effects associated with prolonged corticosteroid use.

Side effects may include local irritation, dryness, allergic reactions, or, rarely, skin thinning (atrophy) with prolonged use. It is contraindicated in viral, fungal, or tuberculous skin infections and should not be applied to open wounds or ulcers.
