The combination of xylometazoline and ipratropium is used for the symptomatic treatment of nasal congestion and rhinorrhea associated with the common cold or allergic rhinitis. Xylometazoline is a nasal decongestant that works by constricting blood vessels in the nasal mucosa, thereby reducing swelling and congestion. Ipratropium is an anticholinergic that reduces nasal secretions by inhibiting the activity of serous and mucous glands.

This combination is administered as a nasal spray, usually 2-3 times a day, depending on the severity of symptoms. It is intended for short-term use, typically no more than 7 days, to avoid the risk of rebound rhinitis.
