OROCALMIN 1.5mg / ml oral spray solution medication leaflet

R02AX03 benzydamine • Respiratory system | Throat preparations | Other throat preparations

Benzydamine is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) primarily used for the treatment of local inflammation and pain. It is commonly used in the form of a solution, spray, or lozenges for conditions affecting the mouth and throat, such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, stomatitis, gingivitis, or after dental procedures. Benzydamine has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antiseptic properties, helping to reduce local pain and inflammation.

The medication is applied locally, either by rinsing the mouth with the solution or spraying directly onto the affected area, usually 2-3 times a day, as directed by a doctor or the product leaflet.

Side effects are rare but may include a burning or numbing sensation in the mouth, dryness of the oral mucosa, or allergic reactions. In very rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions may occur.

Benzydamine is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients. Its use during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be done with caution and only under medical advice. It is important not to swallow the solution or spray unless specifically indicated in the product instructions.
