It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), reducing the production of prostaglandins, substances involved in inflammation, pain, and fever.

Meloxicam is available in tablet, capsule, or injectable forms and is preferred for long-term use due to its lower risk of gastrointestinal side effects compared to other NSAIDs.
